Air Force Band Annual Concert
The Air Force Band Annual Concert, held in collaboration with the Eighth United States Army Band, was one of the Republic of Korea Air Force’s premier ceremonial events. High-ranking officials including the Chief of Staff and senior generals attended the concert, highlighting its national significance. As part of the planning and operations team, I was responsible for visual design production, supporting the event’s overall concept development and branding. On the day of the concert, I also handled protocol duties and interpreting support for foreign military attachés, ensuring smooth communication and hospitality.

Issue
- The design needed to represent the Air Force’s identity—symbolizing ascent, sunrise, and the color blue, which posed challenges in maintaining visual unity.
- A shortage of available military interpreters made it difficult to provide individual assistance to foreign dignitaries.
- Hosting the event in central Seoul presented logistical difficulties related to traffic and limited parking space.
Solution
- Used the image of the Black Eagles aerobatic team rising into the sky to symbolize the sunrise, while incorporating concert visuals below to evoke the Air Force’s blue identity.
- Personally escorted foreign dignitaries and provided interpreting until they were handed off to assigned protocol officers.
- Coordinated with local government and institutions to secure parking spaces and operated shuttle services to minimize attendee inconvenience.
Result
- Successfully delivered the first large-scale external Air Force event after COVID-19, with all tickets sold out within five minutes.
- Received letters of appreciation from foreign military attachés expressing satisfaction with the performance and hospitality.
- The concert served as a positive milestone in restoring public engagement with the military through culture and music.
